How do I provide manual captions? (v3.1)

If you are an instructor or TA you can provide manual text captions.

Instructions

  1. Open Settings (gear icon) at the bottom left side of the screen.

  2. Select Accessibility.

  3. Toggle Enable captioning on.

  4. Select Manual for the Caption mode.

  5. For Select captioner, select yourself.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Participants will now be able to select you as a captioner.

To type captions:

  1. After you make yourself a captioner, a Captions icon will appear on the right side of the bottom controls.

  2. Click the Captions icon to open the manual captions.

  3. Enter the text in the Enter captions field.

  4. Click the send arrow or the return or enter keys on your device.
