The Live Configuration section of our Admin Portal allows Admins and Instructors to control basic settings for each class.
- Access the admin portal.
- Click Classes in the left menu.
- Select the Live Configuration tab.
- Check or uncheck the box next to each setting.
- Click Save Changes.
Maximum number of seats per table
This sets the maximum number of students who can be seated at a table.
Table sharing (screen sharing to your table)
Allows users to share their screen with their table for group activities.
Allow hybrid groups (will block roster seating)
Control the ability to turn allow hybrid groups.
Record learner videos
Control the ability to record learners' video stream while on the podium.
Class gallery recording
Control the ability to record the entire class gallery.
Automatically start recording
This will automatically start recording a class once the instructor joins and the recorder is online.
Allow third-party content generation
This will enable our recording AI summary. If the class is recorded and transcribed, we will summarize it in the playback room. For more information see this article.
Allow peek into tables
Control the ability for instructors to join a table without being seen or heard.
Activate Engageli tags automatically (PDF only).
Engageli Action tags will automatically activate as soon as the slide is shared (PDF only).
Automatically approve screen shares
Allows users to share screen without requiring approval from the instructor.
Start class in table mode
Change the default audio mode for the class to table mode instead of room mode.
Control meeting mode
This mode removes the podium in favor of a larger gallery and shared materials.
Caption languages
Control the default language used for captions.
Captions during live sessions
Control closed captions for the live session, this must be checked prior to captions being enabled in the class.
Create a caption vtt file when recording
Creates a text document with the captions created from the live class.
Control anonymous chat
Users have the option to use the chat anonymously.
Start class in restricted to staff only mode
When enabled, learners will be prevented from joining and provided with the message “Only staff members can join the class, waiting for opening”. To allow learner access, instructors, once inside the classroom, can click Allow Learners in the snackbar message or uncheck Staff Only Mode in the More Actions (three-dot) menu. This setting is also included in the in-class Class configuration settings (gear icon).
