Step 6: Screen Sharing in Engageli: A Complete Tutorial

Instructions

To share your screen while teaching on Engageli via Chrome or Edge, follow these steps:

1. Make sure the window that you want to share is open and not minimized.

2. Click the Present button in the middle of your instructor controls at the bottom of the screen.

3. Under Classroom activities, click Screen Share.

4. Choose either Browser Tab, Window, or Entire Screen.

Select the tab that you want to share. Once highlighted, the Share button will become enabled.

Select the screen that you want to share. Once highlighted, the Share button will become enabled.

5. Click Share.

6. In Engageli, your view will default to the Class Gallery. You can see your screen share in the My Screen Preview window.

7. To stop sharing, choose one of 4 options:

• 1. Click the Stop Class Share button in the middle of the screen. 
  2. Click the Stop table/class share button in the middle of the My Screen Preview window.
  3. Click the Present button, and then STOP. 
  4. Click the Stop sharing button at the top of the screen if you're sharing a browser tab or the bottom of the screen if you are sharing a window.

Advanced Instructions

This section will show you how to share a PowerPoint presentation in Engageli, use the Presenter View, and see your presentation notes. 

Quick Overview

Instructions

1. Make sure you are logged into your Engageli classroom.
2. Open your PowerPoint Presentation. 
3. Click the SlideShow icon on the bottom right to start the slide show.
4. Your slide show will open up in full screen on your single monitor.
5. Hover near the bottom left of the screen. 
6. Click the three dots menu.
7. Select Show Presenter View.
8. The Presenter View opens in a separate window.
9. To get back to your Engageli classroom, you can use your Mac's Mission Control feature to see all the windows that you have open.
10. There are four ways to open Mission Control:
    1. Swipe up with three or four fingers on your trackpad
    2. Double-tap the surface of your Apple mouse with two fingers.
    3. Open the Mission Control app in your Applications folder.
    4. Press the Mission Control key  on your Apple keyboard or Touch Bar.
11. When you see all the windows you have open, select the browser window with your Engageli classroom.
12. Once back in the Engageli classroom, click the Present button at the bottom of the screen.

13. Under Classroom activities, click Screen Share.

14. Click Window.

15. Select the preview image of the window you want to share. Select the image of the presentation slide show. A border will highlight the image and the Share button will become enabled.
16. Click Share. 
17. Your view will go back to the slide show. 
18. To get back to the Presenter View, use Mission Control to see your open windows.
19. Select the Presenter View window. 
20. Use the forward and back arrows to navigate your presentation. 

Pro Tip! Remember to use Mission Control to see all your open windows.

2. Open your PowerPoint Presentation. 
3. Click the Slide Show tab.
4. Check "Use Presenter View". (Use you can also select this under Set Up Slide Show.)
5. Click the SlideShow icon on the bottom right to start the slide show.
6. Your slide show will open up in full screen on your single monitor.
7. Hover near the bottom left of the screen and then click the three dots menu.
8. Select Show Presenter View.
9. The Presenter View opens in a separate window.
10. You can minimize the Presenter View window so you can use it after you share the presentation. 
11. To get back to your Engageli classroom, hold down the Window key and then click the tab key. 
12. You will see all the windows you have open. Select the browser window with the Engageli classroom open.
13. Once back in the Engageli classroom, to share your screen, click the Present button at the bottom of the screen.

14. Under Classroom activities, click Screen Share.

15. Select Window.

16. Select the PowerPoint slide show. Once highlighted, the Share button will become enabled.
17. Click Share.
18. Your display will shift to your presentation.
19. Repeat step 11 [Window key + tab] to get back to the Engageli classroom.
20. Select the Presenter View window from your bottom tool bar.
21. You can resize and position the Presenter View window onto of your Engageli classroom.

Note: Remember to hold down the Window key and then press the Tab key when you want to change windows or views.
