The LMS Attendance section allows instructors and administrators to view the attendance data that is being synced back to their learning management system for a particular class.
Accessing LMS Attendance
- Visit the Admin portal.
- Click Classes on the left to expand the menu.
- Search for the class you’d like to adjust and select it.
- Click LMS Attendance from the left menu bar.
If you do not see LMS Attendance under the classroom, it may be for one of the following reasons:
- The classroom was manually created (i.e. was not automatically created through an LMS). To send attendance data, you will need to use a different class that was created via LMS.
- If the class was created prior to the Attendance Pass back being set up, it will not be eligible for Attendance Pass back. In this instance you may need to recreate the class in your LMS or use deep linking in your LMS to connect an LMS course to this existing Engageli class.
Attendance Passback
Once a class with attendance passback is created, attendance will be updated in the LMS for scheduled sessions at regular intervals. These intervals are set by your Engageli administrator using the Engageli site settings.
To manually sync attendance to your LMS, you can view the LMS Attendance page to trigger an attendance to sync.
Viewing Session Attendance Data
- Once you’ve clicked LMS Attendance, the 'Course Assignments' and 'Assignment Scores' sections will open on the right stacked vertically.
- Click on a session from the Course Assignments list to select it, and it will load the Assignment Scores for that Course Assignment.

LMS Attendance Live Configuration Settings
Session Ratio
-
This is a threshold (percentage) of class time that instructors are required to be present in the class. The full duration of the session must be set via the Scheduler and this schedule is used to calculate occupancy. Once the instructor has occupied the session within the scheduled timeframe and meets the threshold, the session will be considered valid. By default, this value is set to 50%.
For example, if the Schedule is set for 7 pm to 9 pm every Monday (120 Minutes), and the session ratio is set to 50%, that indicates the instructor should have been in class for 50% of the 120 minutes for it to be considered a complete scheduled session.
Attendance Ratio
- This is the threshold (percentage) of a session that a participant must be present in order to be marked as attended. This can be set at anywhere from 10% to 100% of the session.
Skip roster sync to LMS
-
Every time an instructor logs into the class from their LMS, Engageli will update the class roster to match what the LMS shows.
Note: We do not recommend adjusting this setting without consulting your Solutions Engineer.
Upload class attendance to LMS
-
This enables the upload of attendance data to the integrated LMS.
These settings are listed but are not editable:
