This article will go over the "LMS Integration" tab of the "Class Details" page. This tab will display information for any LMS courses (e.g. Canvas, Moodle, etc) that are linked with the class, as well as let you unlink any courses that may have accidentally been associated with the class.
Note: This tab will only appear if the classroom is link to at least one LMS course.
There are generally two ways a classroom to be linked to an LMS course:
- The Engageli classroom was created via LTI integration. That is, the user clicked a link within their LMS course and it automatically created a new classroom in Engageli. In doing so, the new classroom also becomes linked to the course.
- A link is created in an LMS course and specifically configured to take users to an existing Engageli classroom.
The below screenshot shows an example of a classroom's "LMS Integration" tab.
You will notice the page contains two tables: the "LMS Course Mapping" table at the top and the "Assignment Groups" table at the bottom. We'll go over the details of each table below.
LMS Course Mapping
The "LMS Course Mapping" table contains details of all LMS courses that are linked to this classroom. We'll review over each column that appears in this table in the proceeding list:
- Course Label - The LMS-provided label assigned to the course. Usually a shorthand version of the course name.
- Title - The LMS-provided title assigned to the course. Usually a long version of the course name.
- Unlink - Clicking this button will unlink the LMS course from this classroom. This is often used if you accidentally linked your course to the wrong Engageli classroom. Note: This will only undo the things from our end, it's possible additional actions might need to be taken from within the LMS.
- Course ID - The LMS-provided SIS ID assigned to the course.
- Term - The LMS-provided term under which this course is scheduled (e.g. Spring 2023, Fall 2024, etc).
- Start Date - The LMS-provided course start date.
- End Date - The LMS-provided course end date.
- Created - The date this entry was created in our system.
- Last Modified - The date this entry was last modified in our system. Users cannot directly modify entries on this table, but if we sync with the course and find changes, this value will update.
- LMS ID - The LMS-provided unique ID associated with this course.
Assignment Groups
The "Assignment Groups" table only appears if the classroom has the "Track attendance by Occurrence ID" setting enabled under its "Common Configuration" tab. When this setting is enabled, Engageli is able to track the specific course lineitem the user came in through and this table will show all LMS course lineitems associated with this classroom. Below, we'll cover each column of the table:
- Label (assignment group) - The LMS-provided description for this assignment. This is the assignment label that appears for users within the LMS.
- LMS Course - The LMS-provided course label. Usually a shorthand version of the LMS course name. This value corresponds to the "LMS Course Mapping" table's "Course Label" column.
- Requires - LMS-provided list of activities that are required in determining whether credit for the session should be issued.
- Due Date - The LMS-provided due date for the assignment. Once the due date has been reached, we’ll stop sending attendance and grade data for the assignment.
- Score - The LMS-provided number of points possible that the learners can get for this assignment.
- Link ID - The LMS-provided unique ID associated with this assignment.
