This article will cover the "Content Manager" tab, which each classroom will have. This tab can be accessed via "Admin Portal" > "Classes" > select your class from either the "Active Classes" or "Archived Classes" sections > "Content Manager". We've provided a screenshot below of an example classroom's "Content Manager" tab:
The "Content Manager" page is used to manage media that Instructors can share during a live class session. When instructors opt to present media during class using the "Present" menu, they have several options available, including "File Share" and "Video Clips". These options allow Instructors to provide resources on-the-fly or select media that was uploaded to the "Content Manager". With the Content Manager, there's no need to fumble around your local drive for a PDF document--you can upload it ahead of time.
We'll now cover the various options that appear on this page:
- File Type - This dropdown menu allows you to filter the list of content by media type. The options here are YouTube, Video, PDF, and Powerpoint.
- Delete Selected Media - To delete items from the classroom's Content Manager, select the checkbox next to the item and click this button.
- + Add - This dropdown menu allows you to add media to the classroom's Content Manager. The options available are as follows:
- Upload Files - You can upload PDF or PPTX files, as well as a wide variety of video formats, including mp4, webm, and avi.
- YouTube Video - You can provide a link to a YouTube video. Note: Any restrictions on the YouTube video, such as age or country, would still be applicable when sharing it via our platform. Therefore, consider removing such restrictions on the video to ensure users don't encounter issues when watching it.
- Copy From Files Library - This option will bring up a menu that allows you to import content from another classroom or from a standalone content folder. Only content that is accessible to you or your classroom will be available for import.
The majority of the page is occupied by a table that lists all of the classroom's content. Below, we'll describe each column of the table:
- File - This will be a thumbnail preview of the item. If it is a document, it will display an image of the first page. If it is a video, it will display a frame from the video. For Videos and YouTube, you can click the thumbnail to open a pop-up player, where you can watch the video.
- Title - The user-generated name or title assigned to the media item.
- Description - The user-generated description of the media item.
- File Size - The file size of the media item (e.g. 56MB, 37.9KB).
- File Type - The media type. This will vary between PDF, Powerpoint, Video, and YouTube.
- Download/Edit - This column offers 2 buttons you can click to handle related tasks. We'll outline each below:
- Edit - You will see a pencil icon, which you can click to open a pop-up window where you can update the item's Name and Description.
- Download - For Video and YouTube items, a "Get a slide" button will be available, which you can click to download an image containing an action tag that for this item. The ideal use case is to add this action tag to your presentation. During class, when you load the page with the action tag on it, you can simply "Activate" the tag to begin playing the video, as opposed to having to remember which video you were going to share and look for it from the various menus.
