Introduction
This article provides an overview of the "Review & Feedback" page for a module. When reviewing a module's Analytics page, clicking the "Review & Feedback" button will launch this window, where granular details about each learner's interactions with each activity can be reviewed.
Note: Only activities that involve learner interaction or responses will be shown here. For instance, video clips won’t appear since they don’t allow for interaction, whereas something like a Quick Poll will be included because it enables learners to submit responses.
Below is a sample screenshot of the "Review & Feedback" window:
You will notice the page is split into 2 panels: the left-hand navigation panel, which contains a list of items to select, and the main panel, which contains a table of data corresponding to the selected item. The data that is presented in these panels will change, depending on whether you have the Learners View active or the Activities View active. Toggling between the Learners View and the Activities View can be done via the pair of icons found at the top-left of the page, as highlighted below:
Below, we'll describe the information that appears in both panels, depending on the active view.
Learners View
When the Learners View is active, the left-hand navigation panel will contain a list of all learners for the classroom. Selecting a learner updates the main panel's table to show all relevant activities for the module, along with details of that learner's interaction with each one. Below is a sample screenshot of the Learners View:
Below, we'll describe each column of the main panel's table:
- Activity - This contains the name of the activity.
- Done - This indicates whether the learner has completed this activity. The values will be Yes or No. If the learner has completed the activity, you can click on the row to be taken to the "Learner Activity Review" page with the learner's response to this activity automatically loaded.
- Date Finished - If the learner has completed the activity, this will indicate the date of the completion.
- Grade - This column will contain a Passed or Failed, depending on what the learner provided as their response for the activity. A grade will only apply to certain activities where a correct answer is applicable, such as a Quick Poll. For activities where there is no correct answer, such as an Engageli Document, where the user is expected to respond with an essay, this value would be empty.
- Date Reviewed - This indicates the date that a staff member initially reviewed the learner's response to this activity. Subsequent reviews will not refresh this value.
- Last Feedback - If any feedback was provided by a staff member during review of the learners response to this activity, a date will be provided here, along with a picture of the staff member's avatar. If multiple staff feedback is provided to the learner for this activity, only the date and avatar associated with the latest entry will appear here.
Lastly, at the top-right of the main panel, you'll see a "Start Review" button that allows you to begin reviewing the learner's completed activities, starting with the first, via the "Learner Activity Review" page. If the learner hasn't completed any activities, this button will appear grayed out. If the learner has completed all activities and they've all been reviewed by a staff member, the button will be replaced with a non-interactive "Reviewed" label, indicating there’s nothing left to review.
Please see the "Learner Activity Review" section of this article for more information about reviewing learner activity.
Activities View
When the Activities View is active, the left-hand navigation panel will contain a list of all applicable activities for the module. Selecting an activity updates the main panel's table to show all learners for the classroom, along with details of each learner's interaction with the selected activity. Below is a sample screenshot of the Activities View:
Below, we'll describe each column of the main panel's table:
- Name - This contains the name of the learner.
Lastly, at the top-right of the main panel, you'll see a "Start Review" button that allows you to begin reviewing learner responses for the activity, starting with the first learner in the table, via the "Learner Activity Review" page. If the no learners have completed the selected activity, this button will appear grayed out. If all learners have completed the activity and each learner's response has been reviewed by a staff member, the button will be replaced by a non-interactive "Reviewed" label, indicating there’s nothing left to review.
Learner Activity Review
Staff can use the "Learner Activity Review" page to evaluate learner submissions for relevant module activities, assign grades, and offer feedback. This page is typically accessed from the "Review & Feedback" page by clicking either the "Start Review" button or selecting a specific row from the main panel's table. Below is an example screenshot of the "Learner Activity Review" page.
We'll describe each element that appears on this page below:
- Learner and Activity Name - At the top-left of the page, this section helps you verify which learner's submission you're viewing and the corresponding activity.
- Activity Content - The majority of the page will be occupied by the activity content panel, which displays the learner's response to the activity. For example, if reviewing a Quick Poll, you will see the Quick Poll's question, answer options, and the options the user submitted. Similarly, if reviewing a Practice Pal activity, you will see a log of the conversation the learner had with the AI assistant and the corresponding feedback and score.
- Passed/Failed Status - In the top-right corner of the page, clickable buttons labeled "Passed" and "Failed" visually indicate the learner's current grade. The selected status is filled with color to show which one is active. For objective activities--like Quick Polls--the system automatically assigns a status based on performance. In contrast, for subjective tasks such as essay responses on Engageli Documents, neither button is pre-selected, allowing staff to make the final determination. Staff members also have the ability to revise grades previously assigned by the system or other staff.
- Comments Panel - Located on the right side of the page, this panel allows staff to leave notes or feedback that learners can view when accessing the module in the Playback Room.
- Previous/Next Buttons - Located at the bottom-right of the page, these controls let you move through the sequence. In Learners View (from the "Review & Feedback" page), they navigate to the learner's previous or next completed activity. In Activities View, they cycle through learners who've completed the current activity.
