Feature Updates & Enhancements

  • We've introduced a new site-level setting: “Newly invited user requires new name”. When activated, users who self-register (using your organization’s approved email domain) and do not have a display name from the identity provider will be prompted to enter one during sign-up. This prevents email addresses from being used as display names, making it easier for instructors to recognize and connect with individual users. To maintain the current behavior users are accustomed to, this setting will remain disabled by default for all existing partners. If you'd like it enabled for your organization, please contact Support.
  • We've introduced a new site-level setting: "Allow learning path materials to be used in classes". When enabled, Instructors will be able to make additional content types available to the learners via the Learning Path in Playback Rooms. Traditionally, only Recordings and Modules are available in the Learning Path. Enabling this allows additional content to be added, such as PDF files, YouTube videos, and uploaded videos (e.g. mp4). If you'd like it enabled for your organization, please contact Support. Note: This feature is only available for partners who have "Class Portal" enabled.
  • We've made improvements to the action tag / QR code scanner. This specific improvement will address scenarios where action tags will fail to activate a small percentage of the time. For example, you might have a slide with 8 multiple choice poll action tags, but on occasion, one or two tags will fail to activate. The improvement addresses this scenario.
  • We've optimized the performance of overlay gallery and can now re-enable it for partners. If you'd like it enabled for your organization, please contact Support.

  • Engageli Docs can now be used in live classrooms! These text-based documents support collaboration, similar to the whiteboard, but with a focus on written content. All notes below are only relevant for classroom use. 

    • Pre-Class Setup Required: Engageli Docs must be created in the Content section of the class portal before they can be used during a session.

    • No Persistent Changes: Any edits made while a doc is shared in the live classroom will not be saved once the doc is closed or unshared.

    • Recordings: Engageli Docs appear in classroom recordings (playback room and MP4) as part of the video but are not interactive.

    • Limitations:

      • Screenshots of Engageli Docs are not supported.

      • Images (uploaded, pasted, or embedded) are not supported.

      • Table sharing is not supported.

      • Docs cannot be downloaded from within the classroom.

      • Docs cannot be opened in a separate window or tab.

    •  Note: This feature is only available for partners who have "Engageli Studio and Docs" enabled. If you'd like it enabled for your organization, please contact Support.

  • The classroom lobby has been updated with the following changes:
    • The switch to toggle between Live and Playback room has been replaced with a button for each option.
    • The "Manage Class" button that appeared for faculty, which could be used to be taken to the classroom management page, has been replaced with a "Class Management Page" link.

Fixes

  • For partners who utilize our SFTP data service, the issue with occurrenceId missing from certain path values has been resolved.
  • An issue where table-based screenshares were persisting after the user sharing their screen switched to another table has been resolved.
  • LTI users with uppercase letters in their email address would occasionally have their login session refresh incompletely, causing certain actions, like poll activation or sending chat messages to fail. This has been resolved.
  • Classrooms created via LTI with extraneous whitespace present in front of the classroom name were not properly functioning. This has been resolved.
