Release Notes for Engageli Version 3.1.55-20250924
Feature Updates & Enhancements
Administration
When accessing the user settings screen from anywhere outside a classroom lobby, such as the class dashboard, the option to upload your own profile picture will no longer appear for users with a system role of Learner.
The SAML library use for SSO authentication has been updated. Thorough testing has been done with multiple IdPs, but please contact us if you encounter any odd issues relating to authentication.
The Class Portal > Settings > Access > Allowed Domains interface has been updated to mirror the same functionality that is present in the Admin Portal.
We have enhanced the Class Portal > Previous Session > Previous Session Details page to allow for editing AI-generated summaries, if applicable. Previously, AI-generated summaries could be viewed from here, but were read-only. AI-generated summaries can also continue to be edited from within the Playback Room.
Additional LMS-related columns have been added to the classroom’s Admin Portal > Roster and Class Portal > Participants pages.
Admin Portal > User Management now supports bulk updating of user roles and statuses. We've provided example screenshots below of the new feature:
We've upgraded the algorithm that assigns recorders from the pool, resulting in increased recorder availability and a reduction in wait times.
Studio
The interface seen in Studio when creating a brand new module has been updated. The new screen is more intuitive. Below is a screenshot of this:
Modules can now be exported as SCORM files. This can be done via the Class Portal > Modules tab or from within Studio, as shown below. To inquire about this feature, please contact Support.
We've updated the Practice Pal avatars, labeling, and instruction set to make it more apparent to users that it is an AI and not a real person.
We've enhanced Studio's Quick Poll by allowing for line breaks within the Case Description field. Previously, line breaks were converted into spaces. Reference images below:
The system test, accessible from the classroom lobby page, now allows users to perform the test with Compatibility Mode enabled.
Classroom
Traditionally, joining a table will cause your chat target to automatically change to the table you joined. While this behavior is preserved, we’ve introduced a mechanism to clear out any existing chat message you might have had in your message box. This addresses scenarios where users had a partial message typed, joined a table, finished their message and sent it, not realizing the target had changed. This change will help prevent users from sending messages to the wrong target.
We've improved the algorithm associated with the split-by-poll feature. Utilizing the feature to distribute users to tables based on poll answers should now yield better results.
To comply with various state laws, several chat emojis have been removed.
Fixes
Previously, if AI was used to generate certain activities, such as Quick Polls, and the process failed, the error that appeared was somewhat vague. The messages are more specific now.
Resolved an issue where transcripts were automatically generated for recorded sessions, even when no settings were enabled to initiate transcript creation.
Resolved an issue where parts of the page would not load properly if navigating within Studio while a new PDF or Video Clip activity was still being processed.
Resolved an issue where analytics for the Instructor’s camera “on” time was not properly tracked. This only occurred in very specific workflows.
Resolved issue where PDFs made available for learner to download via modules were sometimes being downloaded without the .pdf extension.
Resolved intermittent issue where the activity markers within Studio could not be moved from their current positions.
Resolved issue where an error message would appear if the user cancelled an AI-generated Quiz while it was still being processed.
Resolved issue where the “Save” button sometimes remained disabled when editing the details of a Practice Pal activity, causing users to not be able to apply their changes.
Resolved issue in Class Portal > Recordings where the public/private icon was not reflecting properly if using Tile View.
Resolved issue in Class Portal > Recordings where copying a guest link to a recorded session failed to include the RID value. This was causing the associated recording to not automatically load once the user joined the Playback Room, requiring the user to manually look for the associated recording.
Resolved issue where audio and video weren’t syncing properly for users watching modules from the Playback Room.
Resolved issue where attempting to communicate with Learning Pal in anything other than English caused it to return error messages.
Resolved several issues relating to Playback Room > Learning Path progress tracking. Under certain scenarios, user progress was underreported for Recordings, causing the green progress bar to show gray for portions already watched.
Resolved issue where Class Portal > Previous Sessions counter was including invalid sessions.
Resolved issue where the Overlay Gallery became unavailable when moving from Table Mode to Room Mode.
Resolved issue that caused Instructor Podium Speaking time in Room Mode to be incorrectly counted under Table Mode. This correction applies only to newly recorded data and does not affect past records.
Resolved issue where AI-generated podcast abruptly ended as the speaker was partway through their final sentence.
Adjusted AI model used in podcast generation to properly pronounce “Engageli”.
Resolved issue where Instructors leaving the classroom as TA role would sometimes see their role dropdown from the class lobby change to Instructor, instead of remaining as TA.
Resolved issue where some learners may no longer see the Instructor's active screenshare. This required a specific workflow to trigger.
Addressed issue where the classroom name failed to appear in the class lobby in certain scenarios.
Addressed scenario where the Record button would show as unavailable while recording was already in progress. This was strictly a UI issue and did not impact the resulting recordings.
Addressed issue where a participant's "Camera On" time analytics would be longer than the actual duration of the session. This correction applies only to newly recorded data and does not affect past records.
Addressed issue with newer Chrome versions where changing camera at lobby did not appear to take effect.
Addressed uncommon scenarios where Instructor speaking time was not properly calculated.
