This article introduces the "Table Shared Doc" view, accessible via the Views Tabs section. When selected, it loads the cloud-hosted document that the Instructor is sharing with individual tables.
Note: The Table Shared Doc tab is designed for viewing cloud-hosted documents shared by the Instructor at the table level. Unlike a Class Shared Doc, which provides a single document for the entire class, a table-level share lets the Instructor assign different documents to each table. Just as a Class Shared Doc enables all participants to collaborate on one document, a Table Shared Doc allows participants to work together on the document assigned specifically to their table.
Below is a visual example of the Class Shared Doc view with a Google Slide document being shared:
You'll notice the contents of the main panel are basic: a few buttons at the top-right of the screen with the majority of the panel consisting of the document itself. How the document looks will depend on the type of document being shared (e.g. spreadsheet, slideshow presentation, etc) and the cloud provider (e.g. Google, Microsoft).
This tab's view will be identical for all users of the classroom, regardless of role.
The buttons found at the top-left of the page are:
- Refresh - Click this to reload the cloud document. This can be helpful if it doesn't load properly the first time.
- Open in a New Tab - Click this button to open the document in a separate browser tab, outside of Engageli. This can be helpful if the document won't load properly in Engageli or if you'd just like to see a larger view of it.
Note: Instructors cannot view Table Shared Docs directly from the podium because these are table-specific activities. To access a particular table’s Table Shared Doc, an Instructor must either join that table or use the peek feature.
