Adding a Background to Your Video

You can easily blur or add a different background to your video before you enter your Engageli class!

Before Class

1. Log into Engageli.

2. In the top right corner of your video, click the icon for Background settings. 

3. Select one of the background settings or upload your own.

4. Your new background will be displayed in your video.

5. Click the Background settings icon again to close the settings.

6. Click Join Classroom.

During Class

1. Open Settings and next to Camera, select Background Settings.

2. Select one of the background settings or upload your own. Note: Your video preview is mirrored by default. Uncheck Mirror my video preview if you prefer to see your video feed as others see it.

3. Click the Save button.
4. Your new background will be displayed in your video.

Note: When you're in the classroom, if you turn on Low Bandwidth Mode, your virtual background will be removed and the background settings will be disabled.
