Using annotation tools or a whiteboard is a great way to show your learners a quick math problem or draw a diagram during class. You can also highlight and underline sections of text and type directly on slides.
Please Note: At this time, annotation and whiteboard are only available if you are teaching on the application. You can, however, use the Miro integration on both.
Annotation
1. Share your screen. You can find instructions on how to do that here.
2. Once you are sharing, choose the paintbrush icon from the 'More Actions' dropdown menu.
The annotation toolbar will open in the center of your screen. Annotation options are as follows: select items, draw, highlight, insert text, edit line or font style, and color.
Whiteboard
1. Share your screen. You can find instructions on how to do that here.
2. Once you are sharing, choose the paintbrush icon from the 'More Actions' dropdown menu.
3. To pull up a whiteboard, toggle on the "Switch to whiteboard" switch in the top left corner of the annotation bar.
4. The presentation preview will be replaced by a whiteboard. When you are finished using the whiteboard, click Download to save the file to your computer.
Whiteboard: Miro Integration
1. Select ‘Open Miro whiteboard’ from your More Actions menu.
2. Hit ‘Share <your board’s name> ‘ from the menu at the top of the board that appears.
3. Click the three lines to upload a new board (or create a new one) from your Miro Account. Click the three dots to see a list of previous Miro Boards you’ve shared.
IMPORTANT NOTE: if you haven’t used this feature previously, you’ll need to start with this button to add your first board.
