Overview
This article introduces the "Gallery" button, found near the center of the Playback Room's Bottom Panel. Selecting this button toggles the Playback Gallery in the Right Panel. The Playback Gallery displays the other participants who are currently in the same Playback Room instance as you. The screenshot below highlights the button's placement and the panel it opens:
The Playback Gallery panel is straightforward, but there are a few key details to keep in mind:
- If a participant's webcam is on, their video will appear; if it's off, their profile picture is shown instead.
- The Playback Gallery displays up to 8 participants at once. When more than 8 people are in your Playback Room instance, page navigation arrows will appear at the top so you can move between pages.
- The host of the Playback Room is marked with a HOST badge in the corner of their portrait.
- If you are the host, hovering over a participant's portrait reveals a 3‑dots menu with actions you can take. We’ll cover those options later in the article.
3-Dots Menu
If you are the host of the Playback Room instance, you can hover your cursor over a participant's portrait from the Playback Gallery to reveal a 3-Dots menu. Clicking this button will expand a menu of actions you can apply to the user. Below is a sample screenshot of this menu:
We'll briefly describe the options available:
- Block Mic / Unblock Mic - This will block the user's mic for the remainder of the Playback Room session. This is useful for participants who are being disruptive, as they will not be able to override this block. If the user's mic is already blocked, this can be clicked to unblock it.
- Mute / Request to Unmute - This will mute the user's microphone. This is useful if the participant forgets to mute their mic and their background noise becomes a distraction. Unlike the "Block Mic" option, the user is free to unmute themselves at any time. If the user's mic is already muted, this can be clicked to send the user a notification to unmute their mic, which can be helpful if the user is speaking, but has forgotten to unmute themselves.
- Make Host - Assigns the selected participant as the host for the remainder of the session (or until they transfer it to someone else). Because only one person can host a Playback Room instance at a time, giving another participant the host role removes you from it.
