When you first create your Engageli classroom, you can practice with a robot learner for 10 minutes to help you get familiar with the classroom layout and settings.
From Your Class Registration page:
1. Choose a classroom or enter a name to create a classroom.
2. Click the three dots menu in the right corner.
3. Select Launch Learner Robot.
4. A notification will pop up that says “Robot learner has been requested to join your classroom.”
5. Click the JOIN button to open the classroom login screen.
6. Enter a display name and click Enter Classroom to join the classroom as an instructor.
7. You will see the robot learner join the class gallery within a few minutes.
Practice Workflow
1. Change the audio mode in the bottom right corner of the screen from Room Mode to Table Mode.
You will see that you no longer hear the robot learner. In Room Mode, everyone hears everyone. In Table Mode, the learners only hear others at their table.
2. Select the Tables tab to Join the robot learner’s table. Hover over Table 1 with the robot learner, and then click Join. The tablemates pane will open on the right.
When you join the table, you’ll see that you can hear the robot learner again. Also, when you join a table, the audio mode automatically switches to Table Mode.
3. Click the Back to Podium button to leave the table.
When you go back to the instructor podium, you can switch back to Room Mode. You will see a notification at the top of your screen.
4. Select the Tables tab again.
From here, you can see the different tables. You can drag and drop the robot learner to a different table.
5. Select the Class Gallery tab.
If you click the three dots inside of the robot learner’s video feed, you’ll see that you can mute the learner, turn the learner’s camera off, put the learner on a panel, and do many other actions that might be useful during a session.
6. You can also see the in-class engagement marker on the robot learner’s video feed. The green dot marker represents when a learner is "active," meaning that they have recently interacted in the classroom in some way. Click here to learn more about in-class engagement markers.
7. Click OPEN OVERLAY GALLERY at the top of the Class Gallery to open a pop-up of the class gallery. As you see, you can move the gallery around the screen. Try uploading a PDF or playing a video clip to see how you can use the overlay gallery to view your learners while presenting class material.
