The Engageli classroom has options that allow users to adjust their settings when using older computers or have low internet bandwidth.
You may want to try enabling Low Bandwidth mode if you experience any of the following with Engageli, or if you experience anything similarly related to audio or video issues:
- Audio/video dropping or generally low quality.
- If screen shares or document shares do not work or only work intermittently.
- If other participants in class are having trouble hearing or seeing you.
- When you are using an older computer.
- When you have a slow internet connection.
- You consistently receive errors when activating action tags or running polls.
- When you want to optimize for audio and video isn't required.
Low bandwidth mode
This mode will save bandwidth by automatically merging the gallery into one video feed for all learners instead of having individual video feeds for each learner.
- Learner video feeds are turned off in the class gallery. If you still want to see the class gallery you can click the More Actions (three dots) menu at the bottom of your screen and select Show overlay gallery.
- You will still hear each learner’s audio.
To switch to low bandwidth mode:
- Click the More Actions (three dots) menu at the bottom of your screen.
- Use the slider to move yourself into Low Bandwidth.
