Waiting Room
The Waiting Room gives instructors greater control over classroom access. This update allows instructors to manage who enters the classroom and ensures a smoother and more organized start to each session. This includes participants who join using the iOS and Android apps.
Instructors can now:
- Approve or Deny Entry: Easily manage participant access by approving or denying entry requests in real time.

Monitor Entry Status: View a list of participants in the waiting room and track their entry status.
Revoke entry when needed: Instructors can return participants to the waiting room.
This feature aims to improve classroom management and ensure a seamless and controlled environment for every session.

- The Q&A feature can be disabled at any time during the live class, instantly removing the icon button from the screen. If re-enabled, all previous questions and answers will still be available. Disabling the Q&A also removes it from the Playback Room.

Learner
- Learner cameras no longer turn off when switching to low bandwidth mode.
- Learners can now use blur/background features even in low bandwidth mode.

- Downloading the chat no longer clears the chat history.
- PowerPoint (.pptx) files can now be uploaded to the whiteboard.
- In hybrid mode, the main (loudest) speaker in a group is now auto-selected if no manual selection is made.
- Users in low bandwidth mode can see podium participants with their cameras on.
New Classroom Settings
Two new settings have been added to the live classroom and the Admin Portal configuration settings:
- Enable automatic bandwidth adjustment
- Enable aggressive automatic bandwidth adjustment (Note: This setting should only be used by admins and requires the automatic bandwidth adjustment setting to be enabled.)
These settings allow for more flexible bandwidth management during live sessions. Before enabling these settings, please contact Engageli support or your institution's administrators for guidance.

Classroom Performance Settings
These settings help manage and monitor performance for both learners and instructors, especially in environments with varying internet speeds or device capabilities. Here's an overview of key performance-related options:

Force Learners to Always Be in Low Bandwidth Mode
This setting ensures that all learners are placed in low bandwidth mode, reducing the data required for video streaming and improving performance on slower connections and low-end devices such as Chromebooks. -
Enable Automatic Bandwidth Adjustment
Automatically adjusts bandwidth based on a learner’s internet connection quality and the CPU power of the learner’s device. This feature aims to enhance video and audio performance without manual intervention. (The automatic adjustments can lead to intermittent changes in users' screens during the session, depending on their Wi-Fi quality.) -
Enable Aggressive Automatic Bandwidth Adjustment
This setting further intensifies automatic bandwidth adjustments to prioritize performance over video quality. It requires "Enable Automatic Bandwidth Adjustment" to be enabled. -
Default to TCP Only Mode
Limits network traffic to the TCP protocol, which may improve performance in specific network environments where UDP is less reliable or blocked. This setting can help reduce firewall issues by using a more universally accepted protocol. -
Default Compatibility (RLM) Mode
This feature resolves firewall issues in specific configurations by routing all traffic through a single cloud-based relay node. Please contact support before enabling it.

- Switching between the instructor and TA roles while viewing Notes no longer causes issues with the side panel.
- Resolved the issue where sharing an invalid Google Doc link caused problems.
- Resolved the issue where the Reply button remained visible for table chats after a participant left the table.
- Resolved the issue of the incorrect user role displayed in the chat after a learner was promoted to Teaching Assistant (TA).
- Resolved the issue where the waiting room dialog text disappeared after admitting only one of several participants.
- Resolved the issue where participants could not see their video in the Class Gallery (top left position).

- Resolved the issue where instructors visiting a different table could be intermittently heard by learners at other tables under certain conditions.

- Resolved an issue where certain participants could not be heard immediately after promotion or demotion.
Playback Room
- Resolved the issue in Playback rooms with Interaction Controls enabled where learners could enable sound reactions.
Admin Portal
- Resolved the issue with the class roster where email addresses containing apostrophes prevented deletion.
Data/Analytics
- Resolved the issue of incorrect offline attendance for users in LTI classrooms.
