This article will cover the "Content" tab of the Class Portal. This tab will show you all content that is available for use with your classroom, whether that be for the live classroom or within Studio. For example, if you wish to upload a PDF ahead of time that you plan to share in the next live session, you can upload it here. This tab is essentially the same as to the Content Manager tab that is available for each classroom from within the Admin Portal.
Below is a screenshot of the Class Portal's "Content" tab:
We'll now cover each field that appears on this page:
- Content Type Filter - This dropdown allows you to filter the table of media content by content type (e.g. PDF, YouTube, Poll Template, etc). You can filter by any combination of the items in the dropdown list.
- Content Search - To filter the table of content items by Name, type in the value into this box. Be sure to hit ENTER on your keyboard to submit the search.
- + Add Content - Select this dropdown to add materials to the classroom. Although content can also be saved during a live session, using this option lets you prepare everything in advance. For more information about this feature, see the Class Portal > Content > Add Content article.
The majority of the page will be taken up by a table containing all the class content. We'll describe all the table columns below:
- Name - The name/title of the content item.
- File Type - This will show the content type (PDF, Video Clip, etc).
- Processing - This will show whether the item is "Ready" for use or if it's still "Processing".
- Ready for Studio - This column is applicable to uploaded video clips and PDFs and will show either "Yes" or "No". If the value is "No", clicking the corresponding dropdown will reveal a "Process File" button you can select to prepare the video for use in Studio.
- Created - This will show the date the item was uploaded to our system.
- Get Slide - If you hover over a YouTube or Video Clip item, this button will reveal itself. You can select this to have an action tag generated for the item. You can then copy and paste the action tag into your presentation and, when appropriate during your live session, activate it to instantly begin playing the video via a new YouTube Player or Video Clip tab.
- Edit/Rename - If you hover over an entry, this button will reveal itself. Depending on the item type, clicking this will allow you to rename it or edit its contents.
- Delete File - If you hover over an entry, this button will reveal itself. Click this if you want to delete the item.
