Engageli’s Live Classroom is designed for real-time, interactive learning. Similar to a traditional classroom, sessions typically feature one or more instructors guiding the discussion alongside a group of learners. The Live Classroom can also be used to host 1-on-1 meetings between a tutor and a student, as well as used to facilitate office hours whereby the instructor remains in the classroom as students drop in for assistance. Below is a sample screenshot illustrating what you can expect in a Live Classroom session:
The above example is the view from an Instructor's perspective. The view from a Learner and TA will be more or less the same, but with minor variations we'll be sure to point out.
The live classroom is comprised of several panels, which we'll describe below:
-
Podium - This is the area that spans the very top of the page, as highlighted in the screenshot below:
This space functions like the front of a traditional classroom, displaying class instructors and any learners who have raised their hands to speak to the entire room. For more details about the Podium, refer to the Live Classroom > Podium article. -
Views Tabs - Positioned directly beneath the podium, this thin strip stretches the width of the page. Like a web browser, it features clickable tabs that let you switch between different views. Selecting a tab updates the Main Panel with the corresponding content. The screenshot below highlights the Views Tabs:
For more information about the Views Tabs, please review the Live Classroom > Views Tabs page. - Main Panel - This large area takes up most of the screen and shows content based on the currently-selected tab. Below is a screenshot highlighting the Main Panel:
- Right Panel - Located on the right side of the screen, this collapsible panel allows users to engage with other classroom features--such as chat or Q&A. In the example image below, the user has loaded the Class Gallery into their Right Panel:
-
Bottom Panel - Located at the very bottom of the screen, this area stretches the width of the page and includes control functions and buttons that let you update the content displayed in the Right Panel. The items that appear in this section can vary, depending on your role in the classroom. Below is an image highlighting the Bottom Panel, as seen from the classroom Instructor's perspective:
For more details about the Bottom Panel, refer to the Live Classroom > Bottom Panel article.
