How to add an Engageli LTI link to a Canvas Course

This guide walks through how to add an Engageli LTI link to a Canvas course. It illustrates a common setup used in many Canvas environments, but your organization's configuration may differ. If you have questions about your specific implementation, please reach out to your Canvas administrator.

1. From your Canvas Dashboard screen, select your Canvas course, as exampled in the image below:
   
2. Navigate to the course's "Modules" tab, then add a new module by clicking the "+ Module" button. If you already have an existing module you'd like to use, you can skip this step. Below is a screenshot of the "+ Module" button from the "Modules" tab:
   
3. In the panel that expands, type in the name you'd like to use as the module's label. In our example, we're using "Course Resources", but you can use anything you like. Once done, click the "Add Module" button, as shown below:
   
4. Now that we've created a module, click the "+" button that corresponds to it, as shown below.
   
5. In the pop-up window, set the dropdown at the top to "External Tool". From the list that appears, look for "Engageli Classroom" or similar. The label that appears here will depend on what your Canvas Administrator configured for the Engageli integration. Below is a sample screenshot of these fields:
   
6. Once you click the "Engageli Classroom" entry, the Engageli link will automatically populate in the URL field or you may instead see our deeplink selector screen, as shown below:
   
7. If the deeplink selector screen does not appear, you can skip this step. If you see the deeplink selector screen, make your selection, then click "Submit" at the bottom of the page.
8. Scroll to the bottom of the pop-up in Canvas and ensure the "Load in a new tab" box is marked. You can also adjust the "Page Name" value, if you wish. This is the label that course participants will see, so you'll want to use something relevant. Once done, click "Add Item", as shown below:
   
9. Back in the Modules tab, you should see the new resource link you've just created for the Engageli classroom. Be sure to publish the link, so that students can see it. This is done by clicking an icon at the top-right of the module's header bar, as shown below:
   
10. Once the link is published, all course participants should be able to see and click it. Below is a sample animation showing the clicking of the link and Engageli opening in a new tab:
