How Attendance is Calculated

• A valid class session is established when instructors are logged into the classroom at the scheduled time and for a length of time above the established session ratio.
  • In version 3.1: If no schedule has been set, we will automatically create sessions if an instructor was in class for more than 15 minutes and the recorder was on. 
    • Automatically created sessions will appear in the Analytics section of the portal.
    • If you'd like to clear out the automatically created sessions, simply add in the times and days that your class is scheduled. Instructions can be found here.
• Learner attendance is calculated based on how long the learner is logged into the classroom at or above the attendance ratio.

Schedule Class example calculation:

• Scheduled class time: 10:00-11:00 am (60 minutes)
  • Attendance ratio: 60%
  • Session ratio: 50%
• An instructor joins the classroom at 9:55 am and leaves at 10:50 am, so the class time is 50 minutes.
  • 50 min > 60min x 60% = a valid Session
  • The 5 minutes the instructor was in the classroom before the scheduled class time is not counted.
• Learner A joins the class at 10:10 am and leaves at 11:00 am, so attendance is 50 minutes.
  • 50 min > 50 min x 50% = attendance credit
• Learner B joins the class at 10:10 am and leaves at 10:30 am, so attendance is 20 minutes.
  • 20 min < 50 min x 50% = no attendance credit

Offline Attendance

Offline or Playback Room Attendance is based on the length of the recording, not the scheduled live class. If the recording was uploaded manually, then the session duration will be the duration of the recording.
