If you're inside a classroom or waiting to be admitted by your Instructor, but there's no indication that your Instructor is present, you may have entered a different classrooms. Similarly, if you are an Instructor and you do not see your learners in the classroom, they may have joined a different classroom.
To verify you're both in the correct Engageli classroom, go back to the classroom lobby and check the name displayed next to your webcam preview--this is your unique classroom identifier. We've included a sample image below that highlights the classroom name's location:
Note that classroom names may include a string of random letters and numbers at the end. These are part of the full name, so make sure both participants have matching identifiers. If the names differ even slightly, you're in separate classrooms.
If Staff Only Mode enabled for your classroom, this issue may manifest itself as you being confident that you've clicked the button to allow learners in, but they claim they are still seeing a message telling them to wait for a staff member to arrive. Similarly, if you have the Waiting Room feature enabled and you're not seeing any learners appear on the list for admittance, but your learners state that they are in the Waiting Room, then you are probably in different classrooms.
Important: Some organizations create a new Engageli classroom for each meeting. That means links from previous sessions--or ones saved in your browser history--may no longer point to the correct room. Always use the most recent link provided for the current meeting to ensure you're joining the right classroom.
