If you are attempting to join your classroom, but cannot get past the lobby and notice that the "Joining room..." message persists at the top-right of your webcam preview, then you are likely encountering a network firewall issue.
Upon clicking the "Join Class" button from the lobby, you can expect to wait for several seconds until you are taken into the classroom. During this time, a "Joining room..." message with a spinning indicator will appear at the top-right of your webcam preview, as highlighted in the below image:
If this message remains visible after more than a minute, it likely means your network or security software is preventing the connection.
You may consider any of the below workarounds to temporarily bypass the firewall. Please proceed at your own discretion:
- If you're currently connected through a company VPN, try disconnecting from it.
- If you're on a company network (for example, working in the office), switch to a different connection such as your mobile phone's Wi‑Fi hotspot.
- If you are using a work computer, consider accessing Engageli from another device altogether.
The long-term solution would be to have your IT team review Engageli's network and firewall FAQs and take appropriate action.
If your IT team has any questions, please submit a ticket to Engageli Support and copy them in.
