This article will discuss the Present menu's "Video Clips" option, available to class Instructor's from the Live Classroom. Below is a screenshot that highlights the location of this option within the Present menu:
The "Video Clips" feature allows you to share either video files or YouTube videos during class.
When you click the "Video Clips" button, a selection window will open, as highlighted in the below image:
This window will give you two ways to choose a video:
- Paste a YouTube link into the provided URL bar.
-
Browse the library, which includes:
- Video files previously uploaded to the classroom's Content area. (Note: video uploads must be completed before the session begins, as files require processing time and cannot be uploaded directly from this window).
- YouTube clips that have already been added to the classroom's Content area.
Once you select a video, a new View Tab will open for all participants. Depending on the type of video chosen, this will appear as either a "Video Clip" tab or a "YouTube Player" tab.
Below are some important items to be aware of regarding sharing of video clips:
-
When you share an uploaded video file, Engageli streams the video directly to all participants rather than requiring them to download the entire file first. This streaming method ensures that:
- The video begins playing immediately.
- Bandwidth usage is minimized for everyone in the class.
- Any restrictions on the YouTube video, such as age or country, would still be applicable when sharing it via our platform. Therefore, consider removing such restrictions on the video to ensure users don't encounter issues when watching it.
