The Mic icon usually appears at the bottom of your screen and lets you mute or unmute yourself. While its basic function is straightforward, the icon’s appearance changes to reflect different statuses. This article explains the three possible variations and what each one means:
- On - A standard microphone icon with no lines through it. This indicates your mic is active and unmuted. See example image below:
- Off / Disabled - A red microphone with a diagonal line through it. This means your mic is muted or not accessible by the application. If clicking this icon does not toggle it to the "On" status, then your microphone is likely not accessible by our application, which may point to technical issues with your device. Below is an example image of this "Off / Disabled" status:
- Blocked - A red microphone with a horizontal line through it. This means your mic has been intentionally blocked by staff members. Unlike the "Off" status, this is not caused by technical problems--it reflects a deliberate action taken by staff. See the example image below:
